What a loss. In my meetings with Arthur I came to know him as a very passionate and devoted facilitator of the FOCCUS pre marriage program with couples. He loved the couples and was very serious about doing the best he could to make sure that their marriages began and stayed strong. He was an inspiration in his battle with his illness with his faith and humour. He would have been so warmly welcomed into the goodness of our God. Mary Brown

A teacher, a friend, and an inspiration. From grade 5 Arthur nurtured me and encouraged me. Of all my school time memories, the ones of learning from Arthur, being given moral and intellectual support by him, and of sharing many laughs, are the ones that are most vivid and alive in my mind. I think Adelina and I were one of the first couples to be married by Arthur. When we rang him to ask, he sheepshly said that he'd not done many but would give it a go. In true ATB style he 'gave it a go.' He drove across the country to Perth for the occasion. How commited is that! Rest in Full Peace dear Friend knowing you have been loved and are loved by so many. A brilliant and inspiring teacher (which I benefited from in the 70's and 80's at Daramalan College in Canberra). Fr B. also married my wife and I in 1990. May he rest in peace and thank you for years of tuition and guidance. Chris Green

Father Braithwaite married my husband and I on 9 April 2011; we were the last couple he married before he lost his battle to cancer. We feel honoured that he conducted our ceremony when, as his Brothers suggested, he should have been resting but those who knew him knew he was never one to listen and usually wanted to do things his way. We were blessed to have known him and we admired him so much; for the time he took to prepare us for marriage and his meticulous attention to detail in doing so. When he passed away he had his close friends with him and the during the funeral and burial he was surrounded by the Brotherhood and those special people who he relished chatting to and communicating with; including his beloved marrieds. We are so sorry we didn't have more time to know you and share your joy for life. We will think of you often, remember you always and light our marriage candle in your honour. We miss you but are so glad you are in a happy and pain-free place now. Love always, Leo & Sam

Father Arthur married my husband and I on the 1 May 2005 and has kept in touch through the community he built of couples he had married. He was so dedicated to the community he never missed sending a celabatory letter for our wedding anniversary or the birth of our son. He kept his community in touch through a regular newsletter. I remember on our wedding day, all our family and friends commented on his service saying it was so warm with a few jokes from Father Arthur mixed in which we loved. He had a great warmth and light-heartedness about him. Our thoughts are always with you Father Arthur xoxoxo
