I first started my nursing with you Bev, you taught me all my skills from a little AIN right from the beginning. You gave me all my references for Sydney hospitals and now I'm working as a registered nurse in one of the top intensive units in Sydney and it all started with you. I remember when you laughed at me because I spilt the urine on the floor while collecting my first specimen from an IDC. I was shocked to here of your passing, you are in my thoughts always. It's been a year Bev and you are so missed. There are days when I work on Milton Park and think "Bev would have wanted it done this way". You have left us with so many wonderful memories, thank you. I drive by the bike path each day and remember seeing you there on Saturday's on your bike rides. Thanks for the memories Bev. I miss you and the laughs we shared. xx

Having left the local health service in May 2009 I missed my occasional contact with Bev who I used to see from time to time when I went through the Milton Park ward at Bowral Hospital. Bev was one of those quiet achievers who had the ability and personality to guide newly trained and newly arrived nursing staff through the tricky task of negotiating real time nursing and new technology nursing. My last sighting of Bev was in Bong Bong Street near the post office. She had that determined look and walk so reminiscent of her work at the hospital. Our eyes never met and I thought, "Well, there will be another time when we will have more time to talk." Little did I know.....! Which just goes to show that we should take the moment and the time to speak with those that we admire or love when we can. I missed the goodbye, Bev, but you remain in my thoughts and prayers. There are many in the community who have gained from your teaching, nursing skills and personality.

My first day back nursing after 10yrs was on Milton Park Bowral Hospital.Bev was my support person for the next 5 weeks as I was doing the reconnect course to return to nursing.Wow what had I got myself into!!!!!!or should I say who is this person I have been assigned to?????She just knew everything and I was secretly thinking how am I going to do this!Bev got me through and has always been there when ever I needed any help. She was a wonderful support during my illness and boy did we have a good drink over that.We had a love of fitness and did the Mittagong fun run together last year.God we hated it.Bev has always supported me in what ever I have done and what I hope to achieve in the future. She never pushed me and just knew when I would be ready to go that step further in my career.Bev I will miss you and how dare you leave us so soon.I didnt get to say goodbye but remember our last time together.Rest in peace and you will always be in my thoughts.xoxoxoxoxoxoxo
