I went to school with the father of this beautiful child. He was a really nice classmate, and always friendly to everyone in our classes. I am just hearing of this sad news. I'm really so sorry to hear about him losing this beautiful child. I send warmest blessings to him and to his family so that God may heal the sorrows in their heart... Reall sorry for such a big loss :(

Mr. & Mrs. Menendez, I just heard the news when I was rereading my brochure from the Wish With Wings Benefit Luncheon this year. We met your family when our daughter Amanda was also in the bone marrow unit. I remember them bringing Briana in and how sweet she was, although due to the circumstances, our contact was limited. I bawled my eyes out last night and am so glad I found your page to wish you our most sincere condolences. If you ever need anything or a shoulder to cry on or a friend to write to, please know I am always here for you and would do anything to make you smile again. You can reach me at kayemmbee@yahoo.com. My name is Kelly. All of our love goes out to you.

After reading about this courageous young girl, I can see she had many dreams in life to fulfill and loved by many. So young and beautiful, yet full of life even thought cancer was also a part of her life she never gave up. Sadly to be taken away at such a young age,now she's considered one of God's precious angels, where she has found peace and joy . My heart goes out to the Menendez family to lose such a beautiful and talented young girl. You are all ( and Briana) in my prayers and thoughts. With deepest condolences, Tammy Frazier

The most wonderful memory that brings Briana to my mind is the courage and strength she left behind. It's amazing how a young girl can have a big heart and is able to understand the facts of life. While I didn't know Briana very well, I did learn about her by listening to her mother speak about her. I will say that the Menendez family are very strong and I admire them!

My favorite memory of Briana was playing Scrabble with her during the FWAS morning program at Wedgwood Sixth Grade where I am a teacher. She really did have a smile that would light up a room. I enjoyed having her in my class. Gone from this place, but never from the hearts of all of us that were blessed to know her.

I first met Briana when her mother Stephanie brought her to the office we worked at. Briana and Ashley where so quiet and so well behaved but as they set there waiting to leave with there mother both girls had the biggest smile on there face. I also got to know Briana and Ashley when the girls joined the same summer track club with my son. Both girls where such a pleasure to be around always so sweet and so kind. Briana was remembered by my 2 little girls as the real nice girl who shared her fruit rollups with us at the track meet. Briana will be missed but never forgotten. We love you Briana!

I never had the honor or pleasure of meeting Briana. I just wanted to tell the world how much she touched my heart and soul. Briana inspired in me a stronger faith. She also inspired me to look at my life and be appreciative of all of the blessings I have. It is easy to take life for granted, I now know how truly blessed I am. Thank you Briana. I admire the Menendez family more than words can describe. I thank you all for the life lessons. God Bless!!

All of my memories of "Lil" Menendez are great ones. I never expected or thought that one of my cadets would inspire me in the way she did. She was a very unique young lady and always kept a smile on her face, and smiles on the people who were around her. Over the summer during our Leadership training, I knew she was special. I just didn't know she was more than special. She quickly was promoted to the rank of private. She was not one to settle for anything, so she went and became a Honorary Marine!!! While some people may question why she had to go so soon, I'm just glad I had the time with her that I did. I don't look at it as she's gone, we just can't see her now. On January 27, 2010, "Lil" Menendez got her orders and she had to go to another duty station. Thanks to my Dave and Buster's partner, SFC Riley

Words cannot express the hurt I feel nor can I explain the peace the comes with knowing that Bri' is gone home to be with The Lord Briana was strong willed, a very brave little angel. She was the daughter of one of my dearest friends' and my pal on yahoo IM the few times we did chat she never once spoke of her cancer and asked me not to worry she appeared to live each day to the fullest. Step my dear friend find comfort in knowing that Bri has her wings now. Sometimes God places people in our lives for a season to teach us something, Bri taught me to be strong. In her smile I can see the joy and happiness that you and Larry brought to her. Bri' Bri' touch everyone that she came in contact with in a special way. She will be missed Wishing I was there to help comfort you, Christina (Birmingham,Alabama)

One of the many great memories I have of Briana is the song she wrote to me. It read I pray for you, you pray for me. I love you, I need you to survive. I won't harm you with word from my mouth. I love you, I need you to survive. At the bottom of the sheet she wrote these words: IN THE NAME OF JESUS! I LOVE AND MISS YOU BRI BRI!!!

I remember going to see Brianna at the hospital when she was first diagnoised and she was so clam and relaxed at the hospital , never worried about the outcome. She had a faith in God like I never seen before she was still happy and smiling. Man I know God has an angel with him that has done her job on earth. She has taught me how to step out on faith and give it to God. She has increased my faith in the short time that I got to know her. She will be greatly missed.

Briana Menendez has been through so much this year. She has battled cancer twice and had a stem cell transplant. She still finished the 6th grade with A's and B's. She is a HERO to her family and a blessing from God.
