I loved swimming with Dennis and will miss him greatly! I remember how considerate he was always looking out and waiting for the other swimmer-friends! He liked to look at Fish and one day we saw a huge sting ray together! In my first Terrigal official "Ocean Swim" I raced out of the water and rang like heck to beat some "fellow" at my side! Turned out it was Dennis as I hadn't been game to look - he laughed about it for years afterwards, such a good sport and kind man he was!

in swindon wilts uk dens home town a group of us would go to the local dance on sat nites. during the interval we went to the cricketers arms in swindons historic railway village to join in the usual sing-song. our favourite was HEART OF MY HEART. it went something like this-
heart of my heart i love that melody
heart of my heart brings back a memory
when we were kids on the corner of the street
we were rough & ready guys
but how we could harmonise
i know a tear would glisten
if once more i could listen
to that gang that sang heart of my heart.
