I think Dr. Shipp was my father's PhD supervisor @ University of New South Wales. My father name was Syed Arif Rizvi, he went to Australia from Pakistan in 1965 (on behalf of University of Karachi) on a scholorship to undertake his PhD in Entomology in Sydney. First he went to University of Sydney then he moved to UNSW probably with Dr. Shipp. Unfortunately, my father was not able to complete his PhD (i am still trying to find the reasons) and came back to Pakistan in 1972. I heard Dr. Shipp name from him numerous times therefore just wanted to know the person. Please accept my deepest condolences. RIP Dr. Shipp.

I can't believe it has been a whole year since my grandpa passed away. I love him so much. We all do. Very sad that he won't be able to meet my future children. In our hearts and minds forever. Love and miss you grandpa xoxo

Fond memories of my time as a BSc undergraduate at UNSW with Erik as a mentor. Still remember the golden Galah award on offer for scientific blunders with a laugh, luckily I never won it. It is with deep sadness that I found this memory but he had given me better ones in life and a rewarding life long interest in science. Kevin Davis

Professor Erik Shipp was my PhD supervisor at the University of New South Wales. He was a great entomologist and a brilliant man. I remember him affection and respect. Dr Robin Gunning
