I am Simon's wife Sarah. I remember that while we were planning our wedding Simon mentioned to me that he hadn't seen his grandmother in years. I asked him why and he said there was some bad blood within the family. Simon and I decided that we were going to make an attempt to visit with his grandmother and extend an invitation to the wedding, knowing that even if she couldn't be there, she would know that she was welcome. This conversation took place on May 1st. Gertrude Frostig sadly passed away two days later on May 3 never knowing of her grandsons intention to see her. I thought there was a need to share this with the world. I know that Simon was shocked that this happened so close to the time that we had discussed seeing her and he never got the chance to reunite with her. We had a beautiful wedding in July in the Hunter Valley. Simon still mentions the fact that he didn't even get the chance to invite her. I wanted to make a point of saying that when it comes to family, don't hesitate, don't leave it too long, because you never know when it will be too late. R.I.P Gertrude Frostig.
