Today I received an "invite" from Holly Scully-Power on Facebook and I am not sure what saddened me more, the idea that someone had sent spam from her account or the fact that for a minute, I was still able to think she was still here with us. What I am not able to believe is that it has been 7 years. Always in our thoughts.

Its strange how things happen... I have been emailing on and off and trying to get in contact with Holly since March. Last month they told me at Time Out she had just left, after I had emailed a few times with no response. We had suggested meeting up for a drink back in February as we are professional acquaintances and have spoken so many times as I work freelance in the art wrld, and was quite isolated from the scene she was working in. Holly must have affected me strongly because she seemed to call for advertising where ever I was, whether it be Art Collector or Time Out, she called and recognised my voice instantly. She always called at a time when it was possible to chat about life. She was an uplifting voice, we always laughed and quite simply she made my day, as the art scene can be a bitchy and cold one. Not being close to her, not knowing her intimately I shrugged off the fact she had left Time OUT. Today, I was searching the funeral notices for a friend's Dad -its something I rarely search and I found ultimately that Holly had passed away in March. I had to write a message as a distant person I was so pleased to have met Holly, a bright spark in the day. I have felt sad all day, as time passed I do wish her family condolences and hope to let you know she touched a person she hardly knew in major way. We spoke for a hour and then I sent her on her way with many presents from my clients. Usually client gifts are reserved just for editors, but Holly instantly made you feel like she had always been your best friend. What a loss to the world, but know her beaming smile will continue to shine down from heaven.
