Laurent, Gabriel and their families and loved ones are in my thoughts and prayers today.

Laurent and Gabriel were murdered on my 32nd birthday. Laurent lived across the hall. We never had the chance to meet him, but we think his fiancée, Marie, called round one evening to borrow a corkscrew, which my girlfriend told her they could keep. At least with that one small gesture my girlfriend had the opportunity to have some positive impact on his life in London, for which I truly and bizarrely envy her. After the murders, my girlfriend's grief manifested itself through intense guilt, whereas anger was my overwhelming emotion. The fact that it happened on our doorstep intensified the injustice and made me ashamed to be British for my government's failings. Never so plainly had I witnessed two such undeniably good souls snatched from the world by two such wastes of human life. If it were a simple choice of who deserved to live on this earth more, to my mind there would be no contest. But the wrong pair survived and in thirty to forty years they will perhaps walk free. I decided to write my debut novel to vent some of my pent up anger through the eyes of a character who has nothing to lose, and to explore more profoundly the distinction between those who merit the gift of life, like Laurent and Gabriel, and those who clearly do not. More than two years down the line, I dedicate the completed novel to Laurent Bonomo and Gabriel Ferez, may they rest in peace.

I did not know them but I know what an impact it made on me when I read of this case in the papers. I have myself been an exchange student in Amiens, France for a year and had a wonderful time and was treated with such respect and conviviality. The statements of the parents of these brilliant students break my heart to read, that this should happen to them in my country is nothing but shameful.

I have just seen Panorama programme on BBC TV and Want to Express My Deepest Sympathy to the Families and Loved One's of Laurent Bonomo and Gabriel Ferez . I'm not British, Not that, that matters. I'm from Ireland, but All Too Sadly horrible things can happen in any country. I'm fighting to stop myself from crying So Much about Your Beautiful Two Boys:-( I have tears in my eyes right now... Nothing compared to the tears their families and loved one's have I'm so sure. That said - I felt it So Important to express my Sincerest, Deepest Sympathy and Care To You!!!! If anything at all can come from such a horrendous act/acts - It is that "The Parents, Families and Loved One's Can Be So, So Proud of Their Beautiful Boys!!!!!! Many people live on this earth much longer... But Very Few Give and Attain The Beautiful Gift of Love That Your Boys gave This (often very sad) Earth. Love, Hugs and Care to You All, Brendan, Dublin, Ireland.

Having just come across this website I would like to pay my respects to these two gifted students who had so much to offer the world but whose lives were so cruelly taken by those with nothing to offer. To this day I ask why such fine young men had to suffer such an appalling fate and were denied the chance to achieve their full potential. My heart truly goes out to those left behind whose lives will never be the same. Meanwhile the remorseless savages who committed this atrocity are alive and well, no doubt flourishing in a soft prison - at our expense! Some crimes are too terrible to forgive and this is one of them! My respects to Laurent and Gabriel, their families and all who loved and mourn them.

I have always wanted to tell the families of these young men that i cry most days for them, they are always in my thoughts. i cannot imagine how their families and loved ones deal with this on a daily basis. You must be so proud of the young men that you raised so lovingly, you can always hold your heads high, they were beautiful talented people. i hope that one day your pain will ease and that you will be able to smile when you remember them. my prayers are with you and i continue to pray for you. I have a daughter who travels the world, so I understand the anxiety that is felt when your child goes to another country. I hope that you all appreciate how horrified British people are about this crime. unfortunatly your wonderful sons collided with a world that was alien to them. I am so sorry that this happened. I will never forget them.

I honestly wish there was something I can do to ease the horror and pain the families of these two men are now going through. This story has affected me so much, I have not stopped thinking about how cruel and unkind what happened that day is. Such a waste of two amazing lives, and the scumbags who did this are still free to breath. Unreal. May you both rest in peace and love.

There is nothing any of us in the UK can possibly say, except that this has hit many people very hard. Not as hard as it has hit their parents -- but, even though we may not have known Gabriel or Laurent, we will always remember them.

Heaven is blessed to have you. We will miss you dearly. A Poem For You...... I thought I saw your face today, in the sparkle of the morning sun. And then I heard the angel say, "Their work on earth is done." I thought I heard your voice today, then laugh your hearty laugh. And then I heard the angel say, "There's peace dear one at last." I thought I felt your touch today, in the breeze that rustled by. And then I heard the angel say, "The spirit never dies." I thought I saw my broken heart, in the crescent of the moon. And then I heard the angel say, "The Lord is coming soon." I thought that you had left me, for the stars so far above. And then I heard the angel say, "They left you with their love." I thought that I would miss you so, and never find my way. And then I heard the angel say, "They're with you every day." "The sun, the wind, the moon, the stars, will forever be around, reminding you of the love you shared, and the peace they've finally found. -Bobbi Davis

my heart breeaks for the families of these two outstanding young men. Did the University provide their accomodation? Why were they staying in New Cross which is a very bad area for londoners even who know the dangers but two decent french boys like laurent and Gabriel must have stood out as easy targets for the cowardly evil sick dregs of society who commited this crime. I hope they are caught quickly and never set free on society again. Eli Brighton

Just a week before Gabriel and Laurent were cruelly murdered, I met Gabriel while I was on vacation in London. We met at Westminster abbey, near the harbor and Big Ben, and both a little bit lost. Not really there at that place, but we were both searching for the docks, because that day there was a free rivertour. We found it eventually and we talked with each other on the boat. I didn't know him long, but when I read the message that he was killed I was really shocked and sad, because I did quite like him. I'd just like to give all of my love to the family and friends of the two boys, because if someone would've even made such an impression on me, for only talking to each other for a few hours, it must be awful for all close relationships. So all my love, because he also gave that to many people.

I think most law abiding British people are absolutely sickened by what has happened to these poor young men. Where on earth is our society heading? The culprit may have been found but his punishment will NEVER fit the crime in this country. Rest in Peace Laurent & Gabriel, may God take care of your souls. Lesley

Another senseless killing. It makes me sick to my core that people are evil enough to do this kind of thing. Such a shocking waste of life and talent. My heart goes out to these men's family and friends. As Mr and Mrs Woods say, it makes you ashamed to be British. I hope justice is served and when the killer is found, he is locked up and the key thrown away.

I didn't know the guys, but reading about their brutal, insane, unnecessary murder is just unbearable. I studied and lived in the UK for many years, still love the place, but what is going on these days?? Daily reporting of violent crime, seems to have become the norm... who are all these people, what are we doing to stop the madness? I wish there was something anyone could say to ease the pain of Laurent and Gabriel's families and friends. Catching the culprit is one thing (and the sooner the better and hope they rot in jail for the rest of their miserable lives), but how does one move on when innocent lives have been taken so soon, so violently. I didn't know the guys and I can't stop crying... To the families, I wish you can somehow find the strength to keep going. We pray with you, our thoughts are with you, accept our deepest condolences, small gestures from citizens of the world who still care. Laurent, Gabriel, rest in peace.
