One of my first memories of my Great Uncle Merv is sitting in his lounge room listening to the brassy sounds of a cornet being practiced over and over again until he knew it was right. He was an inspiration to me musically and I spent all of my teens and twenties in brass bands. I want to thank my Uncle Merv for passing on some of his talent and showing me how wonderful this kind of music can be.
