When I think of who influenced me in my life, I always think of my Year 7/8 music teacher Eileen Guppy and Nancy Ovenden, my clarinet teacher. Nancy ( I always called her Mrs Ovenden) was a wonderful person, a fabulous teacher and inspired me to go on in music. I've loved music all my life and I'm so sad to think that one of the sources of my life-long love of music is gone. All I can hope is that other kids are lucky enough to have inspirational teachers like Nancy. And completely off-topic, she introduced me to black coffee which I've drunk ever since practising at her home for school musicals.
