My Heart felt Sympathy goes out to Irene and thoes Beautiful Children, Mom and Dad, Sister and Brother. Also My Sympathy goes to Roseanne Susan, Ed, and Bill and all the CBS Staff. I have been watching your Randy since he replaced Michael A and Stacha D. I don't do change well so when Randy showed up I was a little mad. Not knowing his sence of humer I thought who is this person. It only took one week for me to get him, and what a guy. He had me laughing every day and when I did'nt have to get up a 5:00am I did so anyway just to see that very handsome face and admire his wit. My son lives in Crystal Lake and while I'm there I would hope to run into him just to tell him how much I liked Him and the show.. My Heart is hurting because he is one of a kind. I can't figure just how I got attached to Him and that News show. . My heart goes out to all of you. Now comes the hard part, what are we going to do without HIM! Barb Retzler

I remember always waking up groggy getting ready for school at 5:00 AM, and then again and again ending up slouched in front of the Television. Randy was kind of like everyone's best friend that many never actually got to meet, like a penpal or something. My Mom, Step-Dad, and I would always wake up to Randy's quick and wily wit and humor. The day we found out that Randy had died, we were just lost, heartbroken, and dumbstruck. It seemed unbelievable that someone like him could actually die. In my words watching Randy, Roseanne, Ed, Susan, and Bill was like watching Johny Carson, or David Letterman but at 6 in the morning. The mornings will be bleak, and boring without him. He will be sorely missed.

We will miss Randy. My heart goes out to his family and friends. Subject: just because 1. There are at least two people in this world that you would die for. 2. At least 15 people in this world love you in some way. 3. The only reason anyone would ever hate you is because they want to be just like you. 4. A smile from you can bring happiness to anyone, even if they don't like you. 5. Every night, SOMEONE thinks about you before they go to sleep. 6. You mean the world to someone. 7. You are special and unique. 8. Someone that you don't even know exists loves you. 9. When you make the biggest mistake ever, something good comes from it. 10 When you think the world has t urned its back on you take another look. 11 Always remember the compliments you received. Forget about the rude remarks. So......... If you are a loving friend, send this to everyone, including the one that sent it to you. If you get it back, then they really do love you. And always remember.... when life hands you Lemons ask for sugar, make lemonade and call me over! Good friends are like stars........ You don't always see them, but you know they are always there. Whenever God Closes One Door He Always Opens Another, Even Though Sometimes It's Hell in the Hallway' I would rather have one rose and a kind word from a friend while I'm here than a whole truck load when I'm gone. Forward to all your friends. And don't tell me you're too busy for this.. Don't you know the phrase 'stop and smell the flowers'? See how many 'bouquets' you end up with! Happiness keeps You Sweet, Trials keep You Strong, Sorrows keep You Human, Failures keeps You Humble, Success keeps You Glowing, But Only God keeps You Going

The times I was able to watch the news with Randy, always left me with a good feeling for the day. You couldn't help but laugh and smile when he was on. He will definately be missed, and there isn't a person who could fill the void that has been left behind after this terrible accident.

I met Randy 5 years ago in his hometown of Crystal Lake, IL. The Salerno family were neighbors and close friends of my cousins and upon meeting Randy, I was excited to meet such an important celebrity of the Chicago-land area. I liked Randy the moment I met him. After the introductions, he immediately challenged my brother and I to a game of horseshoes. We of course accepted as we considered it a once in a lifetime opportunity to play horseshoes against someone of Randy's stature. Randy was generous, kind and of course funny and my brother and I had an experience we will never forget. We almost beat Randy, but lost in the end only by a few points, I'm sure he was letting us win to boost our confidence. Nonetheless, it was a privilege to had met let alone hang out with Randy Salerno. God bless his family during this tough time; however, I know Randy will be watching over his family up in heaven, always with that big smile on his face.

Was SHOCKED and saddened at the news of Randy Salerno's tragic death. Grew to become a familiar face whenever I tuned into WGN from where I live out of state. Deeply saddened by the loss to his family, friends, news colleagues, and others who tuned into catch him and the WGN crew do a summary of the daily heartbeat of the pulse of Chicago. May his soul rest in Peace and may his loved ones be comforted. B. Watts Palm Coast, Florida
