Such a cheeky lad. Witty, smart, fun to be around; one of the very best in the business and always generous with his help. Without you, Sean, I would never discovered the wonderful world of radio news – which was never quite the same once you had moved on to telly. Without you, there would not have been so many laughs along the way. Remembered with great warmth and lots of laughter. Can't even begin to imagine the tall tales that you and Greg Henricks are telling each other at the bar (and Lockers, and Gary T). My condolences to family and friends on your huge loss.

My memories are many but most of all it was of you being you, just you, no need for anything more. Thanks for those memories, for all the kind advice, and most of all for helping me, to be me. Love to all the family and may time heal these hard moments. x

"Flanners" was a media legend. Cheeky, brash, witty and smart. He was a stirrer and a great person to be around. We worked together for years at Channel 10 news in the late 80's & early 90's and he was as hard as he was soft. No doubt he will join other legends such as Paul Lockyer and Gary Ticehurst at the bar in the sky. It has been a sad year for the loss of all these great guys and I am just one of many who will miss them. Daniel Marzolla Freelance TV cameraman

Listened mesmerised to a show every Sunday morning on 2ue as a kid to a show Sean did called "Night Watch" and many years later..working with him at Channel 10. Fantastic journo and more importantly, a very nice and extremely funny man.

Many thanks Sean for all the laughs, as well as the help and advice. There is a myriad stories of Sean's legendary wit, antics and tall tales and true. He'll be missed as a true professional and GREAT BROADCASTER.

Sean was a real professional, with a love of language and doing things right! His machine gun delivery of wit and wisdom and great humour could immediately turn to rifle straight delivery if needed! The only time you needed to be careful was! if Sean took his glasses off!,,,
