Vera was my Godmother and my mother's best friend for more than 60 years. Her husband George was my father's best friend. Until I grew up they were the closest thing to an Uncle and Aunt that I ever had, and even as an adult, although I didn't see her as much as I could have, Vera was always there for me and she always has been and always will be, dear to my heart.
