We the fraternity of spiritual devotees living today on this blessed planet, give great honor and respect to Maharishi Mahesh Yogi for His esteemed and valued life of Divine Service to humanity. Although we have not been graced with the extraordinarily rare opportunity to be constantly in His presence or serving at His physical holy feet, we are aware of this Great Being’s dedicated work to spiritually awaken and uplift the consciousness of uncountable souls from around the world. This is a letter of adulation and exaltation and not one of condolence, for we are filled with immeasurable joy and profound gratitude for the opportunity and blessing to breathe the same air circulating the planet, while such a Divine One garbed in human form, resided amongst us and opened the doorway to man’s true inner nature, planting the seeds of enlightenment in those destined ripe souls.. We know the greatest value of this precious human birth and the rare chance to find such venerable Beings walking the planet, in our lifetime. We also know the divine merit filled blessing of companionship with such Beings. How lucky are you, the great selected ones around where the purified physical form is being taken care of; those who have dedicated your lives in supreme, sacred, divine service to the most revered Maharishi Mahesh Yogi; those who received His daily Darshan and daily instructions and guidance; those who planned, organized and administered His daily program; those responsible for His personal care and private needs. We are full of admiration for those fortunate souls privileged to be present at that sacrosanct, final moment of the Revered One’s Resurgence of Bliss, preparing for his mahasamadhi monument. We revere and hold you all in high regard, those carefully selected few, honored with the responsibility to make final arrangements for the purified physical body of Guruji. We are deeply happy and confident that the seeds He planted have grown enough, to be the trees that will give us so many fruits, in our time of need. Adishankaracharya gave his teachings verbally and in writing, covering the entire country and even the world as a whole, through the non-dualistic principle. Through his 4 or 5 direct shishyas he made sure of perpetuating this great knowledge and its practical application over the whole region. Swami Vivekananda did the same in respect of Ramakrishna Paramahamsa and established the Ramakrishna Order through the Ramakrishna Mission, which is operating the world over to this day. The institution of Pope in Vatican is holding the fort for Christianity over the entire globe. Our Maharshi has done more than all these great souls by perfecting Vedic teaching in simple language, giving the easily adoptable technique, with confirmed benefits, supported and validated by religion, scripture, science, practical results in all fields—education, health, governance, architecture, management, medicine, science and technology, defense, research and the whole range of life and living, without any prior stipulation or prescription for the practitioner on the basis of one’s faith, belief, religion, culture, age, gender or social status. The vast reach, magnitude and benefits of this stupendous work and achievements of Maharshi will be reflected in the lives and achievements of the present generation as well as many generations to come. Learning to meditate has been the freedom in my life. From the day I started to meditate it felt like my life opened up and opportunities came that otherwise were unimaginable to me and it continues to be so after 28 years since initiation. My life is totally in debt to this Great Master who blessed me with a simple technique to practice every day.

"If the cat jumps on your lap while meditating, put the cat down gently."

Learning TM when I was a shy, mixed-up 17 year old was the best thing I ever did. I clearly remember the happiness I felt during that first meditation. I couldn't stop smiling and laughing - like spiritual champagne! And prior to learning to meditate my personal situation hadn't been great my parents had been heading towards separation. The happiness I felt continued and 35 years later I still do my TM twice daily. Maharishi's teachings have truly blessed my life and the world as a whole. I hope he is now with the angels because that is what he deserves.

1 man comes to the West, and teaches Person#1,then Person#2..and look at all He accomplished!! 1 man CAN change the world!! Or at least 1 Person. We are so Blessed to be here in His time, to witness it, and benefit from it. Thank You, Your Holiness. You saved us.

I remember my first chance at giving a flower to Maharishi at Queens University in Kingston, Ontario ....after Jerry Jarvis asked Maharishi to turn around for me...I saw Maharishi accept my flower and say "Jai Guru Dev"...and at that moment my entire being was swept over by such an amazing light-filled love I had never known before. I feel, looking back to that experience, that what I had felt was "the Guru's Grace". It gave me a glimpse of why true seekers revel in the company of a living Master. To bask in the divine presence of a living Master is a rare and transforming gift.

Seeing Maharishi once I was so overwhelmed, I bowed prostrate before such a powerful teacher. Your love, wisdom, and generosity will be continued and cherished for generations to come. The world will miss you deeply.

I was initiated intoTM in 1969 and had the privilege of spending a month with Maharishi in Austria in the early days on a teachers training course.I always remember how he spoke about being sent to the west by his master Guru Dev. That it felt "like walking through mud!!" His whole life has been one of service and devotion and we can be joyful that he is now free in the Light. He has sown the seeds. Thank you Maharishi.

"Lie to them when they ask if meditation is religious!" Maharishi told us. When I was made an "initiator" of Transcendental Meditation in 1972, Maharishi said that telling people that the mantras were names of Shiva, and that the goal of meditation was "god consciousness" would create a horror in the minds of Christians and Jews. "So lie to them. No, not a lie. For the Truth is served. After all, an elephant has two sets of teeth: one to show, and one to eat with."

Someone said Maharishi was greatest saint to walk the earth in 10000 years. I can't disagree. Not only has he been the savior of countles individuals but his mission has been to bring peace to the entire world. He wore his body out doing it. On top of that he has revitalized the Veda. On a personal level every time I listened to him I could feel my consciousness growing. All glory to Guru Dev, all glory to you Mahrishiji. The world will never be the same because of you. Love.

I am forever grateful that Maharishi shared his profound wisdom with me in the form of making me one of his student teachers. My times in his presence were supremely blissful and I can remember almost every aspect of what happened even though I haven't seen him since 1984, during his last visit to America.

In Memory of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi who died on Tuesday 5th February 2008 I discovered the power of Maharishi’s Transcendental Meditation (TM) back in 1977. At the time I was a sixteen year old, in boarding School suffering from the eating disorder Anorexia Nervosa. I was desperate, terribly unhappy, with a huge inferiority complex, and very low self esteem. I prayed to God to let me die, or find a way to live again. The answer came in the form of Transcendental Meditation. The moment I heard about it, I knew that it was my answer! I learnt TM in Rossbrin, near Schull in July 1977.After about 6 weeks of practicing Transcendental Meditation, as taught by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, twice daily, morning and evening, for 20 minutes each time, I woke up one morning and my anorexia was gone, that awful mental obsession surrounding food, burning calories by whatever means, and constantly thinking that I looked fat, no longer had it’s grip on me! I continued practicing meditation twice daily, and my inner contentment grew, I was really happy and alive. My thirst for knowledge grew, and my life got better and better. Transcending became a regular feature of my meditation practice. Then in early 1981, RTE’s Pat Kenny hosted a program on TM entitled something like Transcendental Meditation: - Therapeutic practice or cult. Even though I was having wonderful experiences with TM, this program really frightened me, so I went to my local rector in Crosshaven,and he told me TM was satanic, and Maharishi was an anti Christ. I immediately ceased my TM practice, and very soon my life became a roller coaster of disasters, one after another. In 1999, after yet another personal disaster, I decided that it was about time I got my act back together. Between 1999 and 2006, I tried many different forms of meditation, and I also did Reiki.Whilst these various disciplines helped, in no way did they remotely give me that wonderful complete experience which I received from TM. Finally, I recommenced my Practice of TM last September, and I can honestly say that I have never been happier, and life is again getting better, and better. I just sometimes ask myself why did I listen to that vicar, and why did I watch that Pat Kenny’s Program, and why didn’t I listen to my own intuition? But that water under the bridge now.
